Dr. Bai Janena Tito (middle), former Commissioner of the Mindanao Consultative Commission and presenter of the government’s position in the peace talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), challenges the northerners to realize their stake in the Mindanao peace process “May link ang bawat isa sa mga Pilipino (All Filipinos are linked with each other). Whether we are in Luzon, Visayas or Mindanao. Kailangan harapin natin ang hamon na ito (We need to face this challenge). If we can find the link that will bind us as one people, then the elusive peace won’t be hard to reach,” she stated. She is flanked by Sec. Annabelle T. Abaya (right) and Prof. Abhoud Lingga (left), executive director of the Institute of Bangsamoro Studies and presenter of the MILF perspective of the negotiations.
