DIALOGUE MINDANAW, or the Reflective Dialogues, will gather some 300 participants from each of the TEN regions in Mindanao and Palawan, and THREE other regions in the rest of the country. They will represent various groups of each region: LGUs, academe, NGOs, religious, business, fisherfolk and farmers, diverse general public including women and the youth, Christians, Lumads, Muslims.
The dialogues will consist of inputs from resource persons who will be presenting the sides of the two peace panels on issues being discussed on the peace table, followed by small group discussions.
The objective of the presentation is to inform – not to debate, convince or persuade.
The purpose of the small group discussions is to provide a space where people can reflect on the issues for themselves, based on the information they hear and understand.
Before and after the sharing, there will be a polling of opinions. It would be interesting how people’s opinions could change in the course of the dialogue. The narratives and the data that will be drawn from the nationwide dialogues will be analyzed and the results will be offered to the two peace panels and the Malaysian facilitators. Through forums and press conferences, the same results will also reach the wider public.
DIALOGUE MINDANAO will be conducted in partnership with the following organizations:
| Lanao | Pakigdait, Inc. |
| Central Mindanao | Notre Dame University |
| SOCSARGEN | Notre Dame of Marbel University |
| Davao / Compostela Valley | University of Mindanao |
| CARAGA | Under negotiations |
| Zamboanga Peninsula & Basilan | Ateneo de Zamboanga University |
