N. Luzon peace advocates back ‘reflective dialogues’ for Mindanao peace process |

BAGUIO CITY, March 8 – Peace advocates from northern Luzon are conscious of their own conflict issues to tackle, but they also recognize the need to engage in the peace process in troubled southern Philippines where every Filipino has a stake for a stable Mindanao.
Sr. Celerina Zaballa, SSpS of Kappia Network, Inc., one of the 317 participants who attended the reflective dialogue, at first wanted to know more about “Dialogue Mindanaw” being brought to northern Luzon and spearheaded by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP). Kappia Network is a people’s organizations helping small farmers in Abra, “Ang sabi namin, ano ang aming pakialam diyan? Pero na-realize namin may pakialam dapat kami kasi mga Pilipino din sila sa Mindanao at baka may matutunan tayo sa kanilang karanasan (We asked, what’s our stake? But we realized that we should be concerned because they are also Filipinos and we could learn from their experiences)” she said.

Reflective dialogue in northern Mindanao draws 200 stakeholders |

CAGAYAN De ORO CITY, March 8 – Harping on the “true sentiments and values” of stakeholders down to the grassroots, the northern Mindanao leg of “Dialogue Mindanaw” has drawn 200 participants expressing their full support to the ongoing peace process between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
Representatives from the women organizations, youth, academe, religious, and indigenous people from Misamis-Bukidnon area, the participants converged here over the weekend to share their views and express their aspirations for peace in the southern Philippines.
The reflective dialogue was organized by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) in cooperation with Xavier University was held at the Grand Caprice Resto at the Limketkai Mall complex here.

SAN MATEO, RIZAL, Mar. 8 – They came, they listened, and they spoke. They were heard as they freely exchanged views on pertinent issues in the ongoing peace process to resolve the Mindanao armed conflict peacefully.
This freewheeling discussion took place at the continuation of the “reflective dialogues” conducted by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) at the 9 Waves Auditorium here Saturday.
Two hundred seventy five participants from various sectors of society participated in the daylong consultation on “Dialogue Mindanaw” designed generate views and opinions from the public on what they can contribute for a peaceful solution to the Mindanao problem being discussed by the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
